Miss bimbo edits3/28/2023 Adorno and the Frankfurt school show that the negative and positive images in the media have effects on people. Using manipulated images to promote their products is like sending a fake image to the audiences, adverts have been banned in the past because of them using fake lashes and giving the wrong messages to their audiences, and promoting a product that doesn’t give the effect that is promised on the advert. Should advertising companies be able to use manipulated images to promote their products?.Adorno and the Frankfurt school say about negative and positive influences, Richard Dyer also says that it is a matter of images and the images in the advert show flash images of videos and pictures, with the dove advert they have many images but together from the media texts to show what children are able to see. The target audience for the ‘miss bimbo’ text is for adults because it is a newspaper, because this is appealing for them, and they want to read mroe, this is the main focus because they don’t want to influence young girls in negative way, but the ‘dove’ advert has a target audience of ‘mum’ in the sense that they have mentioned at the end ‘ talk to your daughter…’, but they are also focusing the advert at other people to make them realise that the media is having a strong impact on younger children and how much of an impact these adverts can have an impact on people as well. Discuss the target audiences for both texts- consider similarities and differences and this is degrading to women because they don’t want to be represented as this way because it is ‘fake’ and people women want to be represented as ‘real’.ġb. ‘Miss Bimbo’ is being represented as the typical women in the media, having boob jobs, having eating disorders etc. The ‘dove advert’ challenges feminism because they want people to realise how much women are exposed to the public through advertisements and music videos etc. The image of ‘miss bimbo’ shows a constructionist view because this girl has been constructed to be like this. This video creates moral panic for the parents that have daughters, because they at the end it says ‘talk to your daughter before the adverts do’ this is a public outcry, the advert is a reflective view as it is showing the ideologies and values of those producing it. The representations in the ‘dove advert’ are negative of the media and the effects that it has on young people’s perceptions of what the female body should look like and this is similiar to the ‘miss bimbo’ gaming website, this is also a negative representation. The other image is off the website ‘miss bimbo’ and the game that many young girls are now playing on their computer games, the similarities with these videos is that the representations of the people that are bad for the child’s eyes in the ‘dove advert’ is the cartoon image for the ‘miss bimbo’ proving that this is bad for children to see. The representation of the two texts show two very different girls, the image of the girl looking very innocent with red hair and bright blue eyes, she looks about 7 or 8 years old and she is looking straight at the camera, getting eye contact with the audience. Compare and contrast the representation of gender in the two texts.
